Architecture:
Light and Dark
1995–2005
As with my interiors, I’m drawn to houses as a voyeur, wanting to look inside. They’re even more intriguing when nobody is home. I find myself wondering about the lives of the people who live there. The emptiness of a house, its silence, speaks volumes.
Much of the painting is about light against dark: the places where the edges of light meet the edges of shadow.
